Mr. Emrys Hughesasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer, having regard to the United States trade recession and the growing fears of its consequences to world trade and the economies of many countries, he will take the initiative, either alone or through the United Nations, to summon a world economic conference to discuss proposals for dealing with the situation.
