§ Mr. AlportHer Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom are not at present considering giving further financial assistance to the Trans-Antarctic Expedition. 35W As I informed the hon. Member on the 21st January, they have already made a cash grant of £100,000 to the Expedition. and in addition the Services have given free assistance to the approximate value of £86,000. No request for further assistance has been made, and I understand that the Committee of Management hopes to cover the estimated deficit from its own resources.
