§ Mr. Collickasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation if he is aware of the excessive noise caused by motor-cycles, &c., which are not fitted with efficient silencers, and the nuisance caused thereby to residents of dwelling houses situated on main roads in the outer London area such as Hendon Way, N.W.2; and if he will now take appropriate action to prevent this nuisance.
§ Mr. WatkinsonThe Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations, 1955, contain regulations to prevent excessive noise from the exhausts of motor vehicles. If the regulations are not observed in any particular area the residents should approach the police, who are responsible for enforcement.
