§ 58. Mr. Zilliacusasked the Prime Minister whether the statement by the Minister of Defence at Canberra on 20th August to the effect that, since it was impossible to defend this country against nuclear attack, the Government had decided not to attempt the impossible and to confine itself to trying to defend our bomber bases, represented the policy of the Government.
