§ 46. Mr. Hector Hughesasked the Prime Minister the policy of Her Majesty's Government in relation to the pooling of scientific knowledge in the interest of international peace and co-operation; and what steps he has taken since last July and now proposes to take to implement that policy.
§ The Prime MinisterHer Majesty's Government are entirely in favour of84W pooling scientific knowledge in the interests of peace, subject to the need to safeguard national security. Much has been accomplished in this field, for example in the Organisation for European Economic Co-operation, and especially the European Productivity Agency. I believe that a new impetus will be given to this work of co-operation as a result of my talks with President Eisenhower.
