HC Deb 26 November 1957 vol 578 c99W
60. Mr. Tilney

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what liaison there is between African Territories under his control and those administered by the Government of the French Republic.

Mr. Profumo

Liaison is effected by means of local Anglo-French conferences, mainly on technical subjects, by exchanges of visits by officials of the British and French administrations, and through the local consulates. A member of Her Majesty's Government's Consulate-General in Daker has special duties in connection with Anglo-French liaison in West Africa. International organisations, such as the Commission for Technical Co-operation in Africa south of the Sahara, provide further opportunities for discussion of common problems.
