§ 82. Dr. Summerskillasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what action it is proposed to take to protect water supplies from possible contamination by radioactive substances from atomic power stations.
§ Mr. H. BrookeNone of the nuclear power stations so far approved will drain to a source of drinking water. Moreover, no significant discharge of radioactive waste is expected from these power stations. Arrangements already made with my noble Friend the Minister of Power will ensure that any discharge there may be does not exceed a prescribed level of radioactivity.
