§ Mr. Holtasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation if he will introduce legislation to amend the law relating to the issue of A, B and C licences for road transport vehicles, so that licences may not be refused by the licensing authority if the applicant is offering a service which might be preferred by the public.
§ Mr. WatkinsonIn considering applications for A and B hauliers' licences, licensing authorities are already required by Section 9 (1) of the Transport Act, 1953 to have regard to the interests of the public generally, including primarily those of persons requiring facilities for transport.
