Mr. Blenkinsopasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether he will obtain information from local authorities as to the amount of accommodation in their areas suited to and available for elderly persons; and as to what plans they have for extending the provision of such accommodation.
§ Mr. H. BrookeLast year about 1,300 local authorities and a number of voluntary organisations gave my predecessor detailed information about the housing of elderly persons. I do not contemplate another inquiry at present, but I propose within the next few days to issue a further circular to local authorities advising them about various ways of providing more dwellings for old people.
