Mr. WardMost Service airfields in the United Kingdom are available to British charter and private aircraft for landing during normal duty hours, provided the commanding officer's permission is obtained before the flight. A few are also used by scheduled services and56W flying clubs under arrangements made with my right hon. Friend the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation. In emergency, any British civil aircraft may land at any Service airfield.
