HC Deb 12 November 1957 vol 577 c35W
91. Mr. Woodburn

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he estimates that Scotland's school building programme will be cut further or speeded up as a result of his proposal to rephase the programme in Scotland while that of England remains unchanged.

Mr. Maclay

Whether the Scottish school building programme will have to be rephased by postponing some starting dates, and if so how far, will not be known until about the end of February, when the education authorities' up-to-date building programmes for the two years commencing 1st April, 1958, will have been received and examined. The proposals for England and Wales are described in the Ministry of Education's Circular 331 of which I am sending the right hon. Gentleman a copy.
