HC Deb 12 November 1957 vol 577 cc27-8W
Captain Kerby

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will so amend the P.A.Y.E. regulations as to ensure that all public entertainers in the show business meet their taxation demands, as do other members of the community, and that they are henceforth prevented from evading their tax obligations by recourse to the bankruptcy courts.

Mr. P. Thorneycroft

This suggestion has been thoroughly examined in the past; but it has been found impracticable.
