asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department which of the 95 recommendations of the Oliver Franks Report are being accepted by the Government; which have been rejected; and which are still under consideration.

The recommendations which the Government do not feel able to accept are Numbers (16), (56), (68) and (94). The following recommendations are reserved in whole or in part for further consideration:—(20), (36), (37), (38), (39), (60), (66), (76), (77), (82), (90) and (95). The remaining 79 recommendations are wholly or partly acceptable.
