HC Deb 11 November 1957 vol 577 c24W
Mr. Gibson

asked the Postmaster-General if he is aware that the increased postal charges will fall heavily on those people who play chess by post; and whether he will consider making a concession in such cases by allowing them to pay the printed paper rate.

Mr. Marples

The increased charges fall no more heavily on postal chess players than on many other users of the post, and I am sorry I cannot make a special concession in their favour.
