asked the Minister of Health if he will give the reasons for his veto of the salaries award made to employees of the Health Service by the Whitley Council; and if he will make a statement.

I would refer the hon. Member to what I said in the House on 6th November.

62. Mr. Awbery

asked the Minister of Health the total annual amount involved to the Treasury in the recent three per cent. Joint Industrial Council award to the health workers.

Mr. Walker-Smith

The estimated cost of the agreement would have been £604,000 in a full year.
