Member for Brigg concerning the conditions to which monkeys imported in connection with prophylaxis against poliomyelitis have been subjected, he will call an international conference with a view to providing all such animals with protection against unnecessary cruelty.
§ Mr. R. A. ButlerThe evidence supplied by the hon. Member consisted of a report in a French newspaper relating to monkeys at Berlin airporten route from India to Russia. I do not consider that this calls for action by Her Majesty's Government.
