§ Mr. Hector Hughesasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Works, as representing the Lord President of the Council, if he will instruct the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research to collate, with a view to publication, all the scientific information obtained from the recent flights round the earth of the Russian satellite and its appendage.
§ Mr. NichollsThe Royal Society, not the D.S.I.R., is responsible for co- 125W ordinating United Kingdom participation in the programme of the International Geophysical Year and the particular committee responsible is considering the arrangements for collating scientific information obtained in this country from the flights of earth satellites and trans- 126W mitting it to the international World Data Centres of the International Geophysical Year for publication.
In addition, it is understood that arrangements are in hand for an account of some British observations of the satellite to be published quite soon.
