Mr. Jenningsasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what progress has been made in the last twelve months by the Trent River Board in improving the condition of the River Trent at Burton-on-Trent; and what further practical measures for this purpose are proposed in the next twelve months.
§ Mr. GodberMy right hon. Friend understands from the Trent River Board, who are the responsible authority, that a joint survey by their engineer and the borough surveyor of Burton-on-Trent is now proceeding, after which a hydraulic model will be constructed to determine how any remedial work should be undertaken. No work can be done until these steps have been completed, and negotiations with any interests concerned have taken place.
