§ Mr. Lewisasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation if he is aware that during the past few months a selected group of Members of Parliament have visited Germany and France, and are due to visit Belgium, Holland and other countries to examine the situation of traffic on the roads in these countries; and whether he will take the necessary action to arrange such visits under the auspices of his Department.

As to the second part, while it is no doubt useful for hon. Members to examine road conditions in other countries there are no precedents for this to be done at Government expense.
