68. Air Commodore Harveyasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies his present estimate of the Malay, Chinese, and Indian-speaking sections of the population of the Federation of Malaya; and to what extent these three sections, respectively, are represented in the present Legislative Assembly.
§ Mr. ProfumoMalays number about 3,100,000, Chinese about 2,500,000 and Indians about 800,000. The Legislative Council has 98 members, of whom 51 are Malays, 27 Chinese and 7 Indians.
