asked the President of the Board of Trade how many horses and how many head of cattle were exported alive to France during the months of December, 1956, March and April, 1957, respectively.

Sir D. Eccles:

Horses and cattle are not separately recorded in the statistics of live animals exported for food. Exports of animals (other than bulls, cows and heifers for breeding and dairy purposes) to France numbered 11,455 in December, 1956, and 5,014 in March, ment of the hospital service and the capital involved per head of the population region by region at the date of take over.
