§ 56. Mr. Owenasked the Minister of Labour if he is aware that the current regulations governing the deferment of students entering farm institutes is depriving the institutes of students and the community of young trained agricultural men; and whether he will review and amend the procedure.
§ Mr. CarrI am aware that there are some vacant places at farm institutes and my right hon. Friend has been considering, in consultation with his right hon. Friend the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, some extension of the present deferment arrangements for farm institute students. I will inform the hon. Member in due course of the result of these consultations.
