HC Deb 14 March 1957 vol 566 c198W
59. Dr. Stross

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he has noted that six pottery firms went into liquidation during 1956 and that the labour force in that industry has decreased by 10 per cent.; and what action he is taking which will help the industry to prevent further loss of exports and of sales in the home market.

Sir D. Eccles

I am kept well informed about the situation in the domestic pottery industry and am watching it closely. My Department continues to make its export services available to the industry.
