§ Miss Hornsby-SmithThe amount of absconding from individual schools is kept under close review by inspectors of86W the Children's Department, and inquiry is made, and any appropriate action taken, where the number of abscondings from a particular school is exceptionally high. My right hon. Friend has no reason to think that any more general inquiry is called for at present.
