Mr. Allaun

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what concessions have been given to companies to exploit bauxite; and to what companies have the concessions been granted in the British Caribbean territories.

The following companies have been given concessions to exploit bauxite in the Colonial and Dependent Territories.

  • BRITISH GUIANA: Demerara Bauxite Co. Ltd., Reynolds Metals Company.
  • JAMAICA: Alumina Jamaica Ltd., Kaiser Bauxite Company, Reynolds Jamaica Mines Ltd.
  • FEDERATION OF MALAYA: Ramunia Bauxite Company.
  • GOLD COAST: British Aluminium Co. Ltd.
