§ Mr. AlportThe great delay in the settlement of Major Newman's just claim is due to a difference of view between the Indian and Pakistan Governments as to which of them is liable for payment. My noble Friend will continue to do everything possible by representations to the authorities concerned, to hasten a settlement. I am writing to the hon. Member about this case.
