§ Captain Kerbyasked the Postmaster-General why the Government application form for Premium Bonds has omitted the word Christian names and substituted the word "forenames"; and to what extent it is now his intention to use the word "forenames" on all forms issued by his Department.
§ Mr. MarplesAs my predecessor explained on 16th November last, the word "Forenames" was used as the shortest possible expression applicable to all members of the community. In reprinting the form this is being changed to "Christian names or Forenames," but it164W will be some time yet before the original stocks are exhausted. The revised wording will be used in all appropriate cases on Post Office documents.
