§ Mr. Emrys Hughesasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what representations he has received from the Ayrshire County Council about the need for a new maternity unit at Ballochmyle Hospital, Ayrshire; and what was the nature of his reply.
§ Mr. MaclayAyr County Council suggested to my Department in September, 1953, that a maternity unit should be provided at Ballochmyle, and was informed that the Regional Hospital Board considered that priority had to he given to areas with greater needs. In January, 1955, the council asked that a deputation should be received. It was then informed that as the matter was one
