§ 59. Sir I. Fraserasked the Prime Minister whether he will make a statement on the granting of general awards in recognition of service by the forces in Cyprus, and in the operations last year in the Near East.
§ The Prime MinisterYes. Her Majesty has approved proposals for the grant of General Service Medals for specified service in the suppression of acts of terrorism in Cyprus since 1st April, 1955, for the period of the emergency, and in recognition of service in the operations in the Near East at the end of last year. A short White Paper on the subject is available in the Vote Office.
