§ Mr. Brockwayasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Education if he will extend grants to students attending teachers training colleges to students who intend to take posts in the education service of the Colonial Territories.
§ Sir E. BoyleThe main purpose of our teacher training system is, and must be, to train teachers for service in the grant-aided schools in this country. Teachers so trained are not, however, precluded from taking up posts overseas and, as announced in the White Paper on Overseas Information Services, it is the Government's aim to increase the flow of teachers overseas.
