Mrs. Jegerasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation whether, in view of frequent traffic hold-ups in Red Lion Street, Holborn, he will consider making this narrow thoroughfare a one-way street.
§ Mr. WatkinsonOne-way working has been tried, but proved unsuitable, as there is no convenient complementary street between High Holborn and Theobalds Road. Many new buildings have been erected here on a wider building line, and the Holborn Metropolitan Borough Council propose to widen the carriageway in about six months' time.
