§ Lieut.-Colonel Cordeauxasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he is aware that during the present dispute between the companies and unions in membership with the National Council for the Omnibus Industry the use of intimidation and physical violence by pickets against the employees and vehicles of companies, many of which are in no way involved in the dispute, has forced those companies to suspend many of their services; and what action he proposes to restore law and order and protect these companies, their employees and the passengers travelling in their vehicles.
§ Mr. R. A. ButlerI would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the statement made by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister in reply to Questions on 25th July on the maintenance of law and order 123W during the present disputes. If any per-son is the victim of intimidation or has reason to fear intimidation his proper course is to seek the assistance of the police.
