(2)what is the number of workers of all grades employed at the Royal Ordnance factory at Thorp Arch; and whether he will estimate the rate at which employees will become redundant as a result of the decision to close the factory.
§ Mr. W. J. TaylorSome 1,500 people are at present employed at the Royal Ordnance factory, Thorp Arch. I expect production to have ceased in about twelve months' time. How redundancies will be spread over the period is at present being worked out and information will be given to the employees as soon as possible. In the meantime, we shall try to find some other user for the factory, and I take this opportunity of inviting inquiries about it.
