Mr. Watkinsasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation whether he will inquire into the delay there has been with regard to the commencement of the improvement works in respect of the Storehouse Bridge, Pencelly, Breconshire; and whether he will make a statement as to the cause of the protracted negotiations and the difficulties the county council have experienced in this matter.
§ Mr. NugentA grant to this scheme was issued in 1954, but the negotiation of an agreement between the British Transport Commission, as owners of the bridge, and the Brecon County Council, as highway authority, has taken longer than was expected. I understand, however, that the negotiations are now almost completed, and I hope that it will soon be possible for the work to proceed.
