§ Mr. Hubbard23, 24 and 25. asked the Secretary of State for Scotland (1)the incidence of leprosy in Scotland for the last four years; and how many persons are undergoing hospital treatment;
(2)how many of the persons suffering from leprosy in Scotland contracted the disease while resident in this country:
(3)what is the incidence of leprosy in the children of persons suffering from leprosy.
§ Mr. J. N. BrowneNine cases of leprosy were notified in Scotland in the four years 1953 to 1956 inclusive. All were aged over 15 years and in every case the disease had been contracted abroad. It is not known whether the parents of any of these people suffered at any time from the same disease. According to the information given me, one of these persons is receiving hospital treatment as an out-patient.
