asked the Secretary of State for Scotland the number of fishing vessels registered at the port of Inverness for the years 1953–54, 1954–55. 1955–56. and 1956–57, respectively.

I have been asked to reply.

The number of fishing vessels newly registered at the port of Inverness in those years was 10, 17, 20, 24 respectively. The total number on the register there on 31st December was 159, 172, 176 and 175, respectively.
