§ Mr. Leaveyasked the Minister of Labour what proportion of Hungarian refugees who applied for permanent jobs as coalminers in the British Isles have been prevented from taking up such jobs by the action of local lodges of the National Union of Mineworkers.

I am informed by the National Coal Board that 420 Hungarians are employed in coalmining and ancillary occupations, and that a further 1,686 refugees are in training centres.
