§ 91. Mr. Isaacsasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation if he will reconsider his Department's recommendation that the road surfaces in the reconstructed Elephant and Castle area in Southwark shall be of rolled ashphalte as against the opinion of the London County Council and Southwark Borough Council in favour of mastic granite, in view of the fact that rolled ashphalte will last only for five to seven years against twelve to fifteen years for mastic granite and that in addition to the ultimate economy there will be less interference with traffic if the granite is used.
