§ Mr. J. S. MaclayExcluding the Exchequer superannuation contribution of £72,829, the total payments made by the Glasgow Council to the 688 doctors on its medical list in the year ended 31st March, 1957, amounted to £1,380,694. This represents an average of £2,007 per doctor. The majority of these doctors are also on the medical lists of adjacent councils and receive payments from them.
