§ 53. Mr. Gibsonasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether, in view of the fact that the number of local authorities who are ceasing house building because of the increase in interest charges has increased since March, he now proposes to reconsider the question of Government assistance to housing authorities.
§ Mr. H. BrookeNo. If a local authority considers that it cannot build houses which it ought to build without incurring an unreasonable burden, it can make application for additional assistance under Section 5 of the Housing Subsidies Act, 1956.
