§ 81. Mr. Woodburnasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether his attention has been called to the loss of fish in the Forth river due to pollution; and what progress is being made by the Forth Purification Board towards cleansing the river from tar and other poisonous products.
§ Mr. MaclayOver the years occasional complaints have been received of salmon and sea-trout dying in the tidal parts of the Forth estuary. The Forth River Purification Board's jurisdiction at present extends only to the non-tidal portion of the river but I am discussing with the Board and other interests concerned the possibility of making an order at an early date bringing the tidal waters under the Board's control.
