§ Mr. MaclayThe Herring Industry Board requested the restoration of the oil and meal subsidy at certain west coast ports in addition to the present direct subsidy. The Government were unable to agree because they considered that the herring and white fish subsidies should remain broadly equivalent for boats of similar classes.
