§ 73. Mr. Bennasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he will make a statement on the decision of the Northern Rhodesian African Film Censorship Board to abandon the censorship rules drawn up in 1947; and whether he proposes to accept the recommendation of the Board that censorship should be made a federal responsibility.
§ Mr. ProfumoThe Board recently decided that the rules which it had drawn up in 1947 to help it to discharge its duties under the Films Censorship Regulations were out of date, and that it would observe a greater flexibility in applying the Regulations.
91WAs for the second part of the Question, the Government of Northern Rhodesia has suggested to the other Governments in the Federation the establishment of a federal censorship Board to censor films for showing to all races.
