HL Deb 02 July 1957 vol 204 cc589-90WA
VISCOUNT BRIDGEMAN

asked Her Majesty's Government whether they are aware of the delay in sanctioning the scheme submitted by the Clun Rural District Council for the supply of water to Bentlont and other districts in the Parish of Worthen, and of the hardship thus caused to the inhabitants of these districts; and if they can say when they will authorise the Council to proceed with the scheme.

LORD MANCROFT

The Clun Rural District Council have not yet brought this scheme to the point where a local inquiry, which will be necessary, can be held on behalf of the Minister of Housing and Local Government, but the Ministry and the Council are in consultation and my right honourable friend hopes that one can soon be arranged. The point raised in the last part of the Question cannot be answered until after the inquiry.

House adjourned at seventeen minutes past five o'clock.
