§ 63. Mrs. Mannasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he has received a letter from the Secretary of Coatbridge Labour Party concerning Section 355 (1) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act, 1947; and what reply he has sent to the question raised therein.
§ Mr. MaclayOn 8th December Coat-bridge Local Labour Party asked my predecessor to hold an inquiry into the disbandment by Coatbridge Town Council of its Direct Works Department. The reply sent on 21st December explained that this is a matter for the local authority. I have no power to hold an inquiry into the town council's decision.
