§ 124. Mr. Russellasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what encouragement is given by his Department to farmers, market gardeners and allotment holders to use compost made from sewage and municipal refuse, wherever this is obtainable, as a means of restoring fertility to the soil.
§ Mr. GodberThe composting of sorted household refuse with sewage sludge can provide a useful bulky organic manure. Through its advisory staff and one of its publications my Department advocates the use of this compost where it is available and suitable.
