§ 65. Mr. H. Hyndasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether the value of property belonging to the British Government or British citizens and which has been confiscated by the Egyptian Government will be deducted from sterling balances payable to Egypt.
§ Mr. BirchThe Government have reserved the right to claim compensation for losses or damage caused by Egyptian action against British assets. It is not yet possible to make a further statement.
§ Captain Kerbyasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer the amount of Egypt's outstanding sterling balances; and if he will withhold any further releases until British claims on Egypt have been paid in full.
