asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what steps he is taking in connection with the protests of the local residents against the working and proposed extension of the sand and gravel quarry situated in the green belt at the junction of Hooker Lane and Slade Lane, Over Alderley, details of which have been forwarded to him.

This is in the first instance a matter for the Cheshire County Council as local planning authority. I understand that a planning application with regard to this land is at present before it.
