45. Mr. R. Harris

asked the Prime Minister if he will now introduce legislation to limit the number of foreign persons who, because of the Act of 1705, are able to claim British nationality as a result of being descended from the Electress Sophia.

The effect of the recent judgment on the Act of 1705 is under consideration, but I have no statement to make at present.
