HC Deb 20 February 1957 vol 565 c77W
98. Mr. Parker

asked the Paymaster-General what supplies of petrol are available to enable workers at the Remploy Factory, Dagenham, to get to work; and whether they can be increased.

Mr. Maudling

Neither my Department nor the Ministry of Labour knows of any difficulties arising at this factory which can be attributed to petrol rationing but if the hon. Member will let me know the point he has in mind I will look into the matter.

Sir D. McCallum

asked the Paymaster-General, in view of the anxiety of hotel and boarding house keepers in Argyll regarding the position of hotels if petrol rationing should continue over the holiday season, what has been the outcome of the inter-Departmental discussions on this subject.

Mr. Maudling

I have nothing to add to the reply given to my hon. Friend the Member for Ross and Cromarty (Mr. John MacLeod) on 4th February.
